<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT"%> Underground Utility and Leak Locators Association - UULLA.org

The Association currently offers a number of seminars and training sessions each year. These include a Spring Training seminar and the Annual Meeting & Training Conference in October. We also distribute a quarterly newsletter and provide a Toll-Free Tech Support Hot Line.

Members of our Association can provide equipment and services in the following areas:

  • Provide water leak surveys to determine unaccounted for water loss  on apartment complexes, municipal water systems, industrial plants, and other facilities.
  • Locate leaks in swimming pools, residential, commercial, or
    institutional.
  • Locate underground leaks in pressurized piping systems, water,
    steam, chilled water, etc.
  • Locate leaks under concrete slabs.
  • Locate natural gas and sewer gas leaks.

Underground Utilities Locating:

  • Locate water, fiber optics, communications, gas, power, and sewer. Many other types of utilities can be located utilizing a variety of techniques.
  • Provide depth information under certain circumstances.

Video Pipe Inspection:

  • Video inspection of sewers and other piping to provide information as required by client.

Pool Leak Detection:

  • Locating hidden underground leaks within inches of the source
utilizing air enhancement of leak noise and trace gas detection
    .

You will find a member that can perform work in each of these areas, while others that specialize in only one. The result of a well-trained underground leak detector or underground utility locator is found in both time and money saved. This holds true whether you are discussing the area of need for a large municipality or a small private property owner.  If you are looking for a specific product check the Manufacturers & Vendors area.

Our support information phone line is finally operational.  As Director of Training and Education it is my privilege and pleasure to try and be a resource of information whenever our members encounter a situation that makes you  scratch your head and say "what do I do with this problem?"  For those members who are new to UULLA, I am John E. Middleton, or the gray haired old man to the rest of the gang.  I have been in the trade for 30 years now and enjoy sharing experiences and tricks of the trade.

Just for reference, so you will know what areas I may be able to help you with, my experience covers utility locating from residential services, commercial complexes, universities and entire cities.  Fluid leak detection on water lines has been a specialty, having handled everything from icemaker tubing to 90 inch diameter transmission mains.  Our firm routinely located leaks under residential slabs and leaks on new transmission mains from several hundred feet to several miles in length.  we also do sewer profiling or mapping plus camera work up to 6 inch lines.  A final area of endeavor is that of training people who wish to enter the trade or who need additional employees trained in basic or advanced level skills.

If you think we might be able to help solve a problem or suggest a new approach - CALL.  Business hours are 8 to 5 EST but evening calls are accepted as well as emergencies at 2 A.M.  Look forward to hearing from you.
